At a glance

Mobile app development is designing, building and publishing iOS and Android apps, then keeping them working through each year's OS updates. It's for consumer brands, service businesses and internal teams such as field crews. Tag4 Technology Solutions builds most apps with React Native or Flutter, uses Swift or Kotlin when an app needs deeper device access, and handles app store submission.

Mobile is where software gets judged fastest. A slow web page is annoying. An app that crashes at checkout gets a one-star review and gets deleted. Tag4 Technology Solutions is a mobile app development company building iOS and Android apps for consumer brands, service businesses and internal teams. Most projects use React Native or Flutter, and we switch to Swift or Kotlin when an app needs deeper access to the device.

Cross-platform versus native is the first real decision. For most business apps (booking, ordering, account management, field forms, inspections) one shared codebase reaches both stores sooner and costs less to maintain. Native makes sense for heavy camera or AR work, complex background processing, or close integration with hardware like Bluetooth scanners. You'll get a recommendation based on your feature list, with the tradeoffs spelled out.

When mobile projects go sideways, the cause is often outside the code. Apps get rejected over privacy disclosures. Offline sync corrupts data when two people edit the same record. Push notifications quietly stop after a certificate expires. Nobody plans for the new iOS release every September. We handle store submissions, design sync conflicts up front, and set up crash reporting and automated release pipelines before the first public build.

A first release with login, a few core flows and a back-end API typically takes 3–6 months and costs roughly $60k–$180k, depending on integrations and whether a new back end is needed. Budget for upkeep after launch too. Apple and Google change their requirements every year, and an unmaintained app usually starts breaking within 12–18 months.

What we do

Mobile App Development services

01

Cross-platform apps

One React Native or Flutter codebase shipping to the App Store and Google Play, with native modules where the platform demands them.

02

Native iOS and Android development

Swift and Kotlin for apps that depend on the camera, sensors, Bluetooth hardware or long-running background tasks.

03

Field and workforce apps

Offline-first apps for technicians, drivers and inspectors, with photos, signatures, barcode scanning and sync once they're back in range.

04

Customer-facing apps

Ordering, booking, loyalty and account apps with payments through Apple Pay, Google Pay or Stripe.

05

Mobile back ends

The APIs, push notification services and admin screens an app needs, or clean integration with the ones you already run.

06

App store submission and releases

Store listings, privacy labels, TestFlight and internal test tracks, phased rollouts and responses to reviewer feedback.

07

Maintenance and OS upgrades

Yearly iOS and Android upgrades, SDK updates, crash fixes and dependency patches so the app keeps running.

How we work

What you can expect from us

Framework chosen per project

React Native suits teams already using React on the web. Flutter shines for heavily custom UI. Native wins for hardware-heavy apps. The reasoning goes in writing.

Offline designed in from the start

If your users lose signal, we decide early how data is stored on the device and how conflicts get resolved. Retrofitting this is one of the most expensive rewrites in mobile.

Crash reporting before launch

Sentry or Crashlytics goes in during the first sprint, so we see real failures from beta testers instead of reading about them in reviews.

Automated builds and store uploads

Signing, builds and submissions run through CI. Shipping a fix is an hour of work, not a day of someone remembering how certificates work.

Process

From first call to production

  1. Discovery

A few working sessions to pin down goals, users, constraints and what "done" means. You get a written scope and estimate.

  2. Design

Architecture, data model and clickable UI before heavy coding starts, so surprises show up early and cheaply.

  3. Build

Two-week sprints with a demo at the end of each one. You see working software, not status reports.

  4. Launch

Automated tests, staged rollout, monitoring and a rollback plan. Go-live should be boring.

  5. Support

Bug fixes, updates and new features on a monthly plan, or a clean handover to your team.

FAQ

Mobile App Development: common questions

How much does it cost to build a mobile app?

Most business apps cost between $60k and $180k for a first release on both iOS and Android. Apps built on an existing API can come in lower, while real-time features, payments and a new back end push toward the top of that range. Plan for ongoing maintenance every year after launch.

Should we use React Native or Flutter?

Both are mature, and either is a safe pick for most business apps. We lean toward React Native when you have React developers on the web side who can share knowledge and code, and toward Flutter when the design calls for highly customized, animated UI. The bigger risk is choosing either one for an app that really needs native code.

How long does it take to get an app into the App Store?

Building the first version usually takes 3–6 months. Apple's review itself typically takes a day or two, though first submissions sometimes draw questions about privacy or login requirements. We prepare the listing, privacy labels and reviewer notes ahead of time to avoid delays.

Will the app be published under our developer account?

Yes. The app belongs in your Apple Developer and Google Play accounts so you own the listing, the reviews and the user data. We join as team members, and you can remove our access at any time.

Can the app work offline?

Yes, and it should be decided at the start. We store data locally and sync when a connection returns, with clear rules for what happens when two people change the same record. Adding offline support to a finished app is much harder.

What happens after the app launches?

Most apps need a small monthly retainer for OS updates, bug fixes and new features, and we can provide that. If you have your own developers, we hand over the code, build pipeline and documentation instead.
