At a glance
Fintech software development covers lending platforms, payment flows and banking integrations where every cent has to reconcile and every change has to be logged. Lenders, fintech startups, credit unions and financial firms need systems that pass partner bank and auditor reviews. Tag4 Technology Solutions builds loan, payment and KYC systems on double-entry ledgers, designed for small PCI DSS scope and SOC 2 readiness.

Financial software has a low tolerance for "mostly works". A rounding error in interest accrual, a webhook processed twice, or a ledger that drifts one cent a day will surface eventually, usually during an audit or a partner bank review. That changes how you have to build. Idempotent payment handling, double-entry ledgers and immutable audit logs aren't extras. They're the foundation.
We're a fintech software development company that works on lending platforms, payment products and the back-office tools that sit behind them. Typical projects include loan origination and servicing systems, account opening with KYC and AML checks, card and ACH payment flows through Stripe, Adyen or a sponsor bank, and bank data connections through Plaid, MX or Finicity. We also modernize older internal systems at credit unions and lenders where the core works but nobody wants to touch the code.
The trap we see most is a team shipping fast on a fintech MVP, then finding out its sponsor bank or first enterprise customer wants SOC 2 evidence, a PCI scope review and a vendor risk questionnaire. Retrofitting access controls and logging is slow and expensive. We build for SOC 2 readiness and keep card data out of your systems wherever possible, so passing a review is a matter of paperwork rather than a rewrite.
The problems
What gets in the way
Partner bank and auditor scrutiny
Sponsor banks and enterprise buyers send long due-diligence questionnaires. Without logging, access controls and written policies in place, deals stall for months.
Payment edge cases
Retries, partial refunds, chargebacks, ACH returns and duplicate webhooks. Each one can double-charge a customer or unbalance your books if the code assumes the happy path.
Ledgers that don't reconcile
Balances calculated on the fly from transaction tables drift from what the bank reports. Finance ends up reconciling in spreadsheets every month.
Slow, manual underwriting
Analysts pull bank statements, credit reports and income documents from separate systems, then copy numbers into a spreadsheet model before a decision gets made.
Aging core and loan systems
Many lenders and credit unions run on older platforms with batch jobs and limited APIs. New digital products have to work around them rather than with them.
What we build
Financial Services software we deliver
Loan origination and servicing
Applications, document collection, decisioning rules, e-signature, payment schedules and collections workflows, with every status change logged.
Payment and ledger systems
Card, ACH and RTP flows built on Stripe, Adyen, Dwolla or your bank partner, backed by a double-entry ledger that reconciles to the penny.
Bank data integrations
Account linking, balance checks, transaction history and income verification through Plaid, MX or Finicity, with token storage handled properly.
KYC, KYB and AML workflows
Identity verification with Persona, Alloy or Socure, sanctions screening, and case management for your compliance team to review flagged accounts.
Risk and reporting dashboards
Portfolio performance, delinquency, cash position and regulatory reports pulled from one data warehouse instead of five exports.
FAQ
Financial Services software: common questions
Can you make our product SOC 2 compliant?
We can build it for SOC 2 readiness, but only an independent CPA firm can issue a SOC 2 report. Our part is the technical controls: access management, logging, change management, encryption and backups. We usually pair with a compliance automation tool like Vanta or Drata so the evidence collects itself.
Do we need to be PCI DSS compliant?
If you accept card payments, yes, but the scope varies a lot. Using hosted fields or a tokenizing processor like Stripe keeps raw card numbers off your servers, which can shrink your obligation to a short self-assessment questionnaire. We design for that smallest scope by default.
Which banking APIs have you worked with?
We build against Plaid, MX, Finicity, Stripe, Adyen, Dwolla and common sponsor bank APIs. For a new provider, we read the docs, build against the sandbox, and flag gaps early. Bank APIs often behave differently in production than in the sandbox, so we plan a controlled rollout.
How long does a fintech MVP take?
A focused fintech MVP usually takes 4–6 months. Bank partner onboarding, KYC vendor setup and compliance review often run in parallel with the build and can become the critical path. We start those conversations early.
Can you work on our existing loan management system?
Yes. We often start with an audit of the current code and infrastructure, then fix the riskiest issues first. A full rewrite is rarely the right first move for a system that processes live payments.
