Dynamics 365 CRM Implementation

We set up Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, Field Service and Customer Insights so your teams actually use them, and we move companies off Salesforce when the numbers make sense.

At a glance

A Dynamics 365 CRM implementation sets up Microsoft's Sales, Customer Service, Field Service or Customer Insights apps around how your reps, agents and technicians actually work. It suits companies on Microsoft 365 that want CRM next to Outlook and Teams, including those leaving Salesforce. Tag4 Technology Solutions starts from standard Dataverse tables, keeps forms lean and tracks adoption after launch.

Most CRM systems don't fail on features. They fail because salespeople see data entry with nothing in return, so the pipeline report is fiction by the second quarter. A Dynamics 365 CRM implementation should start from what reps, service agents and technicians need on their screen, then work back to what managers want to report on. We work with sales, service and field operations teams, often at companies already on Microsoft 365 who want CRM that lives next to Outlook and Teams.

The pattern we try hardest to avoid is the over-built form. Forty required fields, six custom entities for things that already exist in Dataverse, and business rules nobody documented. We start with Microsoft's standard tables and processes, add fields only when someone can name the report that needs them, and put automation in Power Automate or plugins with clear ownership. Adoption gets measured after launch, not assumed.

Salesforce-to-Dynamics projects usually come from renewal pressure or a push to consolidate on Microsoft. They work well when you treat them as a redesign. Accounts, contacts, opportunities and cases map cleanly, but Apex triggers, Flows and custom objects need rethinking in Dataverse terms, and reports have to be rebuilt. We plan a parallel run and migrate activity history selectively so the new system doesn't inherit years of clutter.

Dynamics 365 Sales or Customer Service projects typically take 2 to 4 months. Field Service with scheduling, mobile and inventory is closer to 4 to 7 months, and Salesforce migrations add roughly a month or two for data mapping and cutover.

How we work

What you can expect from us

Build for the person entering data

We sit with reps and agents before we design forms. If a screen saves them time, the manager's report fills itself.

Fewer custom tables

Dataverse already models accounts, contacts, cases and work orders well. Using them keeps you compatible with Microsoft's updates and Copilot features.

Proper ALM

Dev, test and production environments with managed solutions and automated deployments, so changes don't get made directly in production.

Adoption tracking after launch

We check usage data a few weeks after go-live and adjust forms, views and training where people are working around the system.

Process

From first call to production

  1. Discovery

A few working sessions to pin down goals, users, constraints and what "done" means. You get a written scope and estimate.

  2. Design

Architecture, data model and clickable UI before heavy coding starts, so surprises show up early and cheaply.

  3. Build

Two-week sprints with a demo at the end of each one. You see working software, not status reports.

  4. Launch

Automated tests, staged rollout, monitoring and a rollback plan. Go-live should be boring.

  5. Support

Bug fixes, updates and new features on a monthly plan, or a clean handover to your team.

FAQ

Dynamics 365 CRM: common questions

What does Dynamics 365 CRM cost beyond the licenses?

Microsoft licenses are per user per month, and each app (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service) has its own license with discounted attach licenses for a second app. Implementation is a separate project cost driven by the number of processes, integrations and how much data comes over. A focused Sales rollout is a modest project, while Field Service with mobile and scheduling is considerably larger.

How long does a Dynamics 365 CRM implementation take?

Sales or Customer Service typically takes 2 to 4 months. Field Service usually runs 4 to 7 months, and a Salesforce migration adds time for data mapping and rebuilding automation.

Is it worth moving from Salesforce to Dynamics 365?

It can be, especially if you already pay for Microsoft 365 and want CRM inside Outlook and Teams or connected to Business Central or F&O. It isn't worth it if your Salesforce org works well and the only driver is a small license saving, because migration cost will eat that for years. We'll run the numbers with you honestly.

How do you migrate data from Salesforce or another CRM?

We map each object to its Dataverse table, clean duplicates and inactive records, and run trial loads with tools like KingswaySoft or custom scripts. Owners, relationships and attachments are preserved. Activity history is usually migrated selectively, since years of old emails rarely help anyone.

Can Dynamics 365 CRM connect to our ERP?

Yes. Finance and Operations connects through dual-write, Business Central has a standard integration with Dynamics 365 Sales, and other ERPs connect through APIs and Azure integration services. The design work is deciding which system owns each record.

What support do you offer after launch?

We provide hypercare right after go-live, then monthly support for fixes, admin tasks, new fields and views, and testing against Microsoft's twice-yearly release waves. We also help plan the next phase once the first one is stable.
